From the car park of the Fischleintalbodenhütte the hike leads almost flat to the Talschlusshütte (1548m) and to the right on trail 102/103 in the Altensteintal valley briefly up to a fork. Turn left and take trail 103 up to the Zsigmondyhütte.
From there continue westwards on trail no. 101 to the Oberbachernjoch and on to the Büllelejochhütte (2528 m).
Continue on to the Büllelejoch (2522 m), on the north side over scree a bit steeply down and then on to the Dreizinnenhütte (2438 m) with a wonderful view of the Three Peaks.
An insiders tip is to hike from there to the Sextner Stein, where you have a unique view of the Tre Cime.
From the hut now on trail 102 via Bödenalm through the Altensteintal to the Talschlusshütte and back to the starting point.

From the Auronzohütte, the route goes anti-clockwise around the Tre Cime towards the Paternsattel. This is where the beautiful northern part of the hike with the unique view of the Tre Cime begins.
At the foot of the Paternkofel we hike along the trail to the Dreizinnenhütte (2,405m) From the Dreizinnenhütte we follow the hiking trail no. 105 towards the Lange Alm (2232m).From there we reach the starting point of the Auronzo Hütte, which can be reached by toll road from Misurina (approx. 30 Euro per car) or by bus from Misurina.
