To the Seekofel (2810m)
From the Hotel am Pragser Wildsee (1,495 m), follow the flat path on the right bank to the southern end of the lake. There, follow the signs no. 1 in the direction of Seekofel. The well-maintained but steep path first leads over a field of scree and then through the forest into the so-called Nabige Loch, where you have to overcome an easy section secured with a wire rope before continuing the ascent.
At the next fork in the path, keep right and continue to follow trail no. 1 until the forest thins out. The path winds its way up the rocks via a serpentine secured with a wire rope and, after a total of around 3 hours, reaches the Ofen valley to the Ofenscharte (2,380 m), where a shrine of Mary is located.
The route now leads over the challenging, unmarked south-east flank of the Seekofel, which leads north past the shrine. The steep slope is interspersed with scree and rocks. A steel wire robe facilitates the crossing of the steep passage.
