The starting point for this tour is the Plätzwiese parking lot at an altitude of almost 2,000 meters. From here, you follow the well-maintained forest trail number 37, which takes you comfortably to the idyllically situated Dürrensteinhütte. After a short rest at the hut, you switch to the more challenging trail number 34 and climb up to the Strudelkopfsattel, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the majestic Dolomites. The famous Three Peaks group, the Hohe Gaisl and many other peaks are visible from here.

After a short walk, you finally reach the striking Heimkehrer cross on the summit of the Strudelkopf and return via the same route.
