From Unterplanken, go east past the small chapel of St. Florian and uphill on forest trail nr. 91 on the right side of the Finsterbach. After about 45 minutes you come to the path leading up from Oberplanken, on which you keep to the right, shortly afterwards to the left, in the direction of the Schuier Alm. Now leave the normal alpine path and walk directly uphill through the sparse spruce forest on the left side of the stream. At an altitude of 1750m, you cross an alpine path and hike across wide meadows to the Schuier Alm (1958m). From here you have a wonderful view of the Dolomites.
